My story

Hawkin is a social, curious boy who’s ready to find a home to call his own. Easy to leash and eager to get out and explore, Hawkin enjoys sniffing his surroundings, taking in all the exciting sights and smells. Once outside, Hawkin is affectionate and playful — he loves bouncing around for attention. While he can be a bit rowdy when he’s excited, he’s also very tolerant of handling, allowing pets all over from head to tail. Hawkin enjoys toys, especially squeaky ones, and will happily give them up when asked. He’s a bright, affectionate dog who would thrive in an active home ready to give him fun adventures, continued training, and lots of love. Found it difficult to get his attention for pictures, but he would come over while crouching for lots of forward, rowdy affection (jumping up, face licks). Inside the volunteer office, patrolled around excitedly, very curious in all the smells. Interested in some treats (rejected baked treat; enjoyed cheese). Tolerated all handling: head, ears, shoulders, back, hind, legs. Tag Did not attempt Toys Gives up willingly Tossed a couple squeaky toys while in the volunteer office. Was interested in both, but only took possession of the second toy, which he brought back and gave up willingly. Color Level Gold Rowdy, exuberant, & affectionate! 04/26/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Hawkin was frustrated at the gate alert barking and screaming. in the yard he was calmer than what he showed and was curious of all the dogs. he gave us no issues but remained vocal whenever he was frustrated with people walking past and not removing him from the yard.
