My story

Meet Frick: The Cat with a Broken Meow and a Heart Full of Play: Frick is no ordinary cat. This 3-year-old feline, with a distinctive broken meow that sounds more like a squeaky whisper than a classic cat call, has a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Add to that his adorable habit of letting his tongue stick out a lot, giving him an extra dose of charm that’s impossible to resist. Once a wary feral kitten navigating the challenges of life on the streets, Frick has transformed into a playful and affectionate companion who’s ready to find his forever home. A Journey from Feral to Friendly: Frick’s early days were tough. Living as a feral cat, he learned to be cautious, relying on his instincts to survive. But beneath that guarded exterior was a spark of trust waiting to shine. Thanks to the patience and care of his rescuers, Frick has come a long way. He’s traded his skittish ways for a love of human companionship, often seeking out gentle pets and cozy lap naps. His unique meow—more of a quirky croak than a full-fledged yowl—and his frequently peeking tongue make every interaction with him a delightful experience. Sometimes, in his excitement, Frick may accidentally scratch without meaning to, a remnant of his feral days that simply calls for a little extra understanding. A Playful Spirit in Need of Patience: Frick’s favorite pastime? Playtime, all the time! Whether it’s chasing a feather toy, pouncing on a laser pointer, or batting around a crinkly ball, this energetic cat brings joy to every moment, often with his tongue playfully sticking out as he dives into the fun. His playful antics are a reminder of his youthful spirit, but they also come with a need for patience. Frick can still be a bit shy when adjusting to new environments, and his occasional unintentional scratches mean his new family should be gentle and forgiving as he learns to fully trust. His ideal adopter will be patient, giving him the time he needs to feel secure. This special kitty thrives in a calm, supportive home where he can continue to build trust. A patient owner who understands Frick’s feral roots, overlooks his accidental scratches, and celebrates his progress will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion. Frick isn’t just a cat—he’s a testament to resilience and the power of kindness, complete with a quirky tongue and a playful spirit.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Frick, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
