My story

Meet Skittles and James, a perfectly mismatched yet totally inseparable orange duo looking for their forever home together! Skittles, at 2 years old, is a bit of a unicorn — orange females are pretty rare! Found as a stray kitten, she quickly decided that life was much better with a buddy, and bonded instantly with James when they met in foster care. Skittles is a big, beautiful girl with a permanent RWF - we're talkin "resting worried face" (that only makes her even more endearing.) Once she warms up, she turns into a sweet, silly, affectionate companion who loves to stick by your side (and will even venture onto your lap). Skittles loves everything playtime: mice toys, wand toys, laser pointers, and plenty of zoomies with James. James is the cool older brother at about 7 years old. He's a bit braver and more independent than Skittles. He enjoys pets and affection on his terms — definitely more of a "don’t call me, I’ll call you" kind of guy, (but don't worry - he does call!) and he has a serious passion for window-watching and keeping tabs on the local bird gossip. The more he gets to know you, the happier he is to nap the day away on your lap and lean in for some chin scratches. And not to worry - James still has plenty of playful energy. He and Skittles can chase each other and wand toys for hours. James is also a proud member of the "snuffler" club — he’s been left with some scarring in his nasal passages from previous URIs, which means he will likely always have some congestion that will need to be monitored. BUT it doesn’t slow him down or seem to affect his quality of life. He and his case have been examined by multiple vets at this point who all seem to agree, this is just his baseline and something he'll have for the rest of his life. Regular vet checkups, a low stress environment, and some immune boosting supplements (like Immuquin) will help keep him happy and healthy. Both Skittles and James are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and have had recent vet checkups. James also recently had a full dental, bloodwork, and xrays. They’re ready to bring double the love, double the purrs, and double the orange cat energy into an experienced cat home! If you're looking for a perfect pair who balance affection, independence, and a whole lot of heart, Skittles and James are ready to meet you! To help them find a loving home, we are waiving James' adoption fee. Submit an application at denverkittens.org/adoptables *AdoptaPet inquiries are not sufficient*

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Skittles, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
