My story

Chuck is at our Bucktown Adoption Center (2144 N. Wood St.) You can visit our Adoption Center at any time during open hours, no appointment needed. Chuck is: Neutered: Not yet! He is scheduled to be neutered on a later date (TBD), and will be adopted with an additional neuter contract and refundable $150 neuter deposit if adopted before then. Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Chuck: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: He has done well when home alone with another dog to keep him company, but can be vocal and have difficulty settling when home completely alone. Leash walking: Doing well! Dog social: Yes! He lives with a resident dog in his foster home and has been doing great. He loves having a buddy, and seems to gain a lot of confidence and comfort from having a dog pal in the home. Cat social: Yes! He has done well in living with a dog-savvy cat in his foster home Kid friendly: He has been calm when briefly interacting with kids on walks Because Chuck thrives with the companionship of another dog—helping him feel more confident and comfortable, especially when home alone—we are requiring that he be placed in a home with a canine friend Chuck likes: - Playing with squeaky toys - Hanging with a dog pal - Cuddling and kissing his person Chuck is the cutest little guy who is snuggly and fun. He has been building up his confidence while in foster, and has benefited from having a confident dog (and cat!) pal to keep him company. He’s a prancer on walks! He loves to lounge on the couch with you with his feet in the air, and he takes treats so gently. Chuck is heartworm positive and on activity restriction. He is undergoing treatment at Ellis Clinic at no charge to their adopter. Heartworm is a treatable disease that most dogs make a full recovery from. You can learn more about heartworm treatment on our resource page -https://www.onetail.org/heartworm/ Chuck's adoption fee is $300, and he is ready to give his love to his person! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chuck, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
