My story

Meet Cauliflower a quirky little floret with a tender heart and a spicy side. Cauli is a one-of-a-kind soul: sweet and mellow and full of personality once you earn his trust. He walks nicely on leash and likes to take in his surroundings and observe the world. He shows the potential to do well with cats with a slow introduction, but he prefers to not share his space with other dogs. Once you meet him, you’ll see his soft core hidden under that crunchy name. Cauliflower is looking for a home that understands his needs, respects his boundaries, and sees the beauty in his bold, blossoming spirit. See what one of our volunteers had to say after taking Cauliflower out for an adventure! "I had so much fun with Cauliflower on Miles this morning. He was his usual sweet, cheerful self when I entered his kennel, and he stood perfectly still to let me leash him up. He needed a bit of a boost to climb into the back seat of my car because he’s so low to the ground, but once in, he settled right down and was calm and quiet on the way to the ponds. He jumped down out of the car easily and set off down the trail right away. He enjoyed sniffing certain bushes, and would stop and back into them as if hoping they’d scratch his back a little, then he’d bop off again! He followed his own rhythm, usually walking with a loose lead, then he’d run for a few yards, then he’d slow down to a trot. He really kept me on my toes! He enjoyed walking into the river at quiet spots, wading right up to his hocks. He was always cooperative with me, doing everything I asked. He may look like a terrier, but man, is he ever chill! When we returned to the shelter, he walked easily into his kennel, settling right down to enjoy the enrichment that was waiting for him. Love this little man!"
