My story

Theo is a special dog searching for a patient and dedicated adopter. Theo came to HSWM with limited human socialization and is nervous around new people and in new environments. The shelter environment is challenging for dogs like Theo and, while he has slowly adjusted to his new routine, he`s still learning how to trust people. Theo has historically lived with other dogs but doesn`t have much experience meeting brand new dogs out in the world. Our team is happy to discuss the process of dog to dog introductions, and can help facilitate meetings between shelter dogs and your resident dog(s) during your visit to the shelter.Theo is food motivated and thrives when given the chance to spend time outdoors. His lack of experience on leash and nervousness around people make it especially important that steps are taken to ensure Theo cannot escape an outdoor enclosure or harness/collar. If you would like to learn more about Theo please visit the shelter during open hours or call/email with questions. Our staff is happy to discuss what we`ve learned about Theo so far and how he can best be supported in a new home.
