Bates tolerates some attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.A volunteer writes: Bates looks like a Beanie Boo doll with her soft glittery eyes made all the more pleading when I picture her waiting in front of someone's house, as she did, for some help. Later scooped up by a good Samaritan who noticed Bates looking a little worse for wear and brought her to us to get her started on the next step. We don't know much about Bates before she came to the shelter and we also don't know that much about her since she's gotten here. Bates prefers to keep her messages simple and use them mostly to convey that she's unhappy here. So, I'm not sure what her favorite treat is, which toys get her puffed and pouncing, or even the type of blanket she prefers. Bouncing away from our extended hands, Bates tries to get into whatever part of her condo that we aren't. She's looking for a patient family where she'll be welcomed and included for exactly who she is. Primary Color: Gray Tabby Weight: 4.65 Age: 8yrs 0mths 4wks
