My story

Leia von Leezen is a gorgeous 3 year-old shepherd with a calm, loving personality and a heart full of sweetness. Leia is affectionate and social—she enjoys laying at your feet, being petted, and will gently offer her paw for more love. She’s smart, learns quickly, knows her sit and down commands and gives both paws. She also takes treats softly, making her a joy to train and be around. This fluffy girl walks beautifully on leash and stays right by your side in a relaxed heel position. She’s polite when meeting new people and other dogs, showing gentle manners. In playgroups, Leia does well with calm dogs. She enjoys exploring the yard at her own pace and prefers the company of mellow companions over energetic ones. She’ll happily trot beside you, looking for reassurance and connection. Leia would be a wonderful addition to a home where she can shine as the loyal, gentle soul she is. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
