My story

Hi, there! I’m Harry–  a 4-year-old, 55-pound girlie. Like any Lab mix, I have a lovable heart and a belly that’s always ready for rubs. I was rescued from some pretty awful conditions at the ESLR "shelter" in Ensenada, but now I’m living the good life and ready to find my furever home! I love meeting new people and thrive on affection. If I’m not snuggled up next to you, I’m probably following you around, giving you kisses, or politely requesting more pets. I’m super mellow and relaxed, and when I’m not outside exploring, you’ll find me curled up on the couch or in bed, enjoying a good snooze.  I absolutely love my walks, especially when I get to take my time sniffing everything. I also enjoy running on the beach and shorter hikes, but I overheat easily, so I’m more of a “let’s take it easy” kind of adventurer.  Loud noises can make me a little nervous, but car rides? I’m all in! I’m fully potty trained and walk well on a leash, though I’m still learning basic commands (I’m working on “sit” right now!). I’m not crate trained, but I don’t need one—I’ve never chewed, scratched, or gotten into anything I shouldn’t. Plus, I don’t beg for human food! When it comes to other pooches, I’m a bit selective. I’m not a fan of hyper, in-your-face pups, but I do have a few doggy friends I enjoy playing with. Slow introductions are best for me! I also have a bit of a prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must. As for kids, I haven’t been around them much, but I’d likely do best with calm, easy-going children. I would need some calm time to decompress at home, and need to be left alone for a bit to feel safe. I have acted out in the past and I am hoping decompression at a new place will help me develop trust. I’m the sweetest, most affectionate dog you’ll ever meet. I don’t bark (except that one time... at a balloon… oops!), and everywhere I go, people comment on how well-behaved and loving I am. I’d thrive in a relaxed home with people who want a loyal, snuggly companion. Whether it’s a long walk, a trip to the beach, or just lounging around, I’m happiest with my human. If you’re looking for a mellow bestie who will always be by your side, I’m your dream girl! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ Freedom journey sponsored by Jennifer Smith! ##2291282##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Harry 2, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
