My story

Meet Deogee – A Diamond in the Ruff Deogee is a 2.5-year-old beautiful blond shepherd mix who has come a long way since arriving at the shelter. Initially shy and unsure, she’s now wagging her tail, engaging with staff and volunteers, and happily joining doggie playgroups—proving she’s ready to open her heart to the right family. She’s a strong, intelligent girl with a lot of love to give, but like many shepherds, she has a notable prey drive. Because of that, she’s likely not a match for homes with cats or small pets. With dogs, however, she’s showing promising signs of sociability and could thrive with the right canine companions. Deogee is currently carrying a few extra pounds, but with regular exercise and a healthy diet, she’ll be on the path to a fitter, happier self in no time. She does tend to jump up when seeking attention (she just wants love!), but she’s responding well to training and tends to walk nicely on a leash. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate dog with a growing zest for life and a heart full of potential, Deogee could be the one to complete your pack. The adoption fee is 350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.   ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.
