My story

Von is a shy sweetheart with a heart-shaped nose and a heart full of potential. This 2-year-old black-and-white boy may be reserved, but he’s quietly learning to trust the world again—one tiny step (and toy pounce) at a time. Most days, you’ll find him tucked away in a cozy hiding spot, but with the help of his best friend, Penelope Rose, he’s starting to come out of his shell. Von takes a lot of comfort in Penelope and looks to her for cues during playtime and new interactions. While he’s still working on accepting pets, he’s begun to sniff curious fingers and join in gentle play. He’s not the kind of cat who will rush into your lap—but with time, patience, and the support of his bonded buddy, Von has all the potential to become a loving companion. He and Penelope were surrendered due to housing issues and should be adopted together. They may be able to live peacefully with another calm cat after a slow introduction. Because Von is sensitive to loud noises and changes, he’d thrive in a quiet, stable home without young children.
