My story

The Spice Litter (Pepper (who has already been adopted), Chili, and Curry) came to us on April 26, 2025, from Lancaster, SC. They were about five weeks old, so we are calling their birthday March 22. Their feral mother had not been seen for a few days, so the homeowners climbed under the house and pulled the kittens out of the insulation. Even at five weeks old, feral kittens can be spicy, and these frightened little guys were definitely up for a fight. And that is how they were named the Spice Litter. Chili, a light brown tabby female, is the sweetheart. Although she enjoys rough and tumble play with her siblings, she loves human contact. She was the first of the three to purr and is going to be a snuggler. Curry, a male gray tabby, is the overthinker of the litter. For the first three weeks, he was always on guard and avoided all human interaction and physical contact. He carefully watched our every move and would run away or hide when we were near. Eventually, when he saw how comfortable Pepper and Chili were playing with us and being held, he let his guard down. He’s naturally smart and wary, so the first purr from a kitten like him is a milestone you treasure. He and Chili would be a great pairing for adoption. She loves his rough and tumble nature. He needs her trust and affability. Our strong preference is that Chili and Curry be adopted together. They are well suited for each other and will keep each other company when you are away. They are litter trained and will be old enough to leave for their forever homes in late May. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt The Spice Litter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
