My story

Unbelievably affectionate young cat that will instantly steal your heart.  All she wants all day is to have a person to lay on or be cuddled by.  She gives hugs and kisses and simply can not get enough affection in return.  Poppy doesn't like to be alone so she will need another cat to befriend or owners who are home most of the day.  Poppy had a very bad/fearful reaction to meeting her foster's dog and will likely take time warming up to any canine family members.  Proper introductions will be a must.  Poppy is considered special needs because she was born with only one kidney.  Cats with one kidney can live normal long lives but it's recommended that she stay on a healthy cat food diet and gets annual bloodwork to ensure her kidney continues to function well.  Poppy is a truly special kitty with a personality anyone would fall in love with. Meet Poppy today and if you're lucky, you'll be getting the best cat ever.  Interested in one of our cats/dogs? First step it to fill out the required adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our cats/dogs will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs), FeLV/FIV tested (cats), microchipped, and current on vaccinations. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in foster homes with us, so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval. Adoption counselors are available onsite at PetSmart most Saturdays & Sundays, 12-4 p.m. to conduct meet and greets and onsite adoptions.
