My story

Azula (formerly known as Little Girl) is a striking pup with a whole lot of personality packed into a small frame. She’s about one year old, full of energy, and definitely still figuring out the world around her. Azula recently returned to the shelter after about a month in a home, where her high energy and lack of training proved to be more than her adopter could manage. But we know the right person is out there for this special girl. Azula has some behavioral needs that require an experienced, patient adopter, someone who can provide structure, consistency, and guidance. She’ll do best as the only pet in the household for now. Despite challenges, Azula has a sweet and affectionate side. She loves rope and plush toys, bones, and cuddles. Azula may be a bit of a project, but with the right person, she has the potential to grow into a loving best friend. If you’re the kind of person who sees potential where others see challenge, Azula could be your girl!! Meet her at ACCT Philly any day between 10 am & 6 pm BEHAVIOR: Previous shelter stay notes: 05/12/2025 staff notes: Little Girl was avoidant during meet, was much more interested in sniffing around. She did go up to the little girl (2-3 yrs old) and seemed interested in her but sniffed and quickly moved away. She showed some interest in a squeaky toy (head tilts hearing the squeaky noise and sniffed the toy) but did not play with it. We brought [another dog] out for the meet as well since adopter was interested in potentially taking both dogs and she opened up a tiny bit with him there but was still avoidant with adopters. We did have to carry her outside but she did walk back inside on her own. No issues leashing or unleashing. She appears to be low-medium energy and is easy to handle but would recommend an experienced breed adopter 05/12/2025 staff notes: Walked into the eval room within a few hours of intake and saw Little Girl spinning in her crate frantically. I got a kong and brought it over and she stopped, I tossed it in and she started spinning again. Shortly there after she was moved into the regular size kennel with Daken and will be put on meds to hopefully help her adjust.
