My story

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** We are looking for a home for two cute 7-year-old tabby cats, Koko and Buddy. My husband and I are seniors, and it is becoming more difficult to care for two very active cats. Though we love them dearly, we would like to find a special family that can nurture them and provide a warm, loving home. They are sometimes playful, which may appear to be typical cat fighting, and ultimately they end up cuddling and napping with paws around each other. As Koko underwent surgery for urinary blockage a month after we adopted him, we were encouraged by our Vet to offer Koko wet food specific for urinary conditions during his life. We want to make sure that whoever adopts them will maintain this same diet. The unique personalities of each cat can, at times, be challenging, which motivates us to search for someone who has patience and experience with cats. Both cats typically hide when visitors are in the home. Koko tends to be slightly more approachable. Buddy may bite while playing, but it is usually a gentle nip. Koko sometimes displays aggressive behavior, such as hissing and swiping with his paw. Assistance from someone knowledgeable about cat behavior is sought to address these issues. Finally, we must be assured that Koko and Buddy will remain indoor cats as they both were declawed when they were 6 months old. We are sad to part with our friends and want to be sure that we find the right fit for a new home for them. We will help in any way we can with the transition to a new environment. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Koko and Buddy, please reach out to us. We can arrange a meet-and-greet session to ensure that the cats feel comfortable with their potential new family. Your kindness in considering our beloved pets means the world to us. We hope to find a perfect match that will cherish Koko and Buddy as much as we do and continue to provide

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Koko, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
