My story

Meet Jake! Jake is a sweet and soulful 10-year-old heeler mix with a heart as big as his 62-pound frame. This handsome gentleman came to us after some pack conflicts in his previous home. Because of the issues he faced in his former home, Jake will require some extra time to get comfortable with any pups he is around. If the introductions are gradual and the dogs respect his personal space, Jake appears to be thriving in forming new friendships and has even grown quite close to his foster dog sister and brother as time has passed! Jake is incredibly friendly with people and has quickly won over staff and volunteers with his gentle nature and love for snuggles. He walks politely on leash and seems to truly enjoy his time exploring the world at a steady pace. He has even started daily 2 mile jogs with his foster family, which he loves! Jake is more than ready to be someone's loyal walking or jogging buddy and couch companion! If you’re looking for a loving, low-key dog who still has plenty of pep in his step and affection to give, Jake might just be your perfect match. Come meet this cuddly cattle dog and see why we’re all so smitten!   The adoption fee is $250 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##267697##
