My story

Meet Jake! Jake is a sweet and soulful 10-year-old heeler mix with a heart as big as his 62-pound frame. This handsome gentleman came to us after some pack conflicts in his previous home, so he'll need slow, supervised introductions to any resident dogs in his future family. That said, Jake hasn't shown much reactivity to other dogs during his time here at the shelter so far. Jake is incredibly friendly with people and has quickly won over staff and volunteers with his gentle nature and love for snuggles. He walks politely on leash and seems to truly enjoy his time exploring the world at a steady pace. While he could benefit from some portion control and a bit more exercise to reach a healthier weight, Jake is more than ready to be someone's loyal walking buddy and couch companion. If you’re looking for a loving, low-key dog who still has plenty of pep in his step and affection to give, Jake might just be your perfect match.
