Meet Dexter, affectionately known as Dex, a striking mixed breed with an estimated birthday of October 19, 2023, on the lookout for his forever home! Currently, Dex is enjoying life with his loving foster mom and playful foster sister, so visits are by appointment only. Here’s what his fantastic foster has to say about this charming ball of energy: "Dexter was found wandering alone, burdened by a heavy chain around his neck. Now, he’s transformed into a spirited hound mix, brimming with the joy of discovering all the wonders life has to offer! Weighing in at 50 pounds of pure affection and playful antics, Dex is a delight. He's mastered house training, and is incredibly clever—he knows how to let me know when he needs to step outside by tapping the door handle! The perfect addition to an active family with a fenced backyard and a furry friend to romp around with, Dex embodies the spirit of a puppy but with a maturity that means he’s well-behaved when left alone in the house with my own dog.  Come mealtime, he’s a true gentleman, always waiting patiently for his bowl or a tasty treat. If you’re seeking a loyal companion filled with love and laughter, look no further than Dex!” When it comes to his crate, he finds it a cozy haven—fully crate trained! With a natural instinct for the chase, he possesses a high prey drive, so he’s not suited for a home with chickens or small livestock—he's just out to have a little fun!His devoted trainer is thrilled to extend a complimentary training session to his future family. Although is is absolutely fantastic with littles, he’s best suited for families with older children (7 and up) as he’s still mastering the art of keeping his paws on the ground and not jumping up in excitement. Fully vetted and ready for adoption, Dex will also be microchipped to ensure his safety.
