**$445 in pledges to any rescue that may pull!** Tucker is an approximately 5 year old male mixed breed dog that came into the shelter as a stray. In the shelter, Tucker was very timid and scared at first, but has been warming up to all of the staff and volunteers that help care for him. He has done well with other dogs in playgroup, and is looking for a gentle handler that can give him a quiet environment to adjust to life. His tail wags when I approach his kennel as he knows he's going outside and he's easy to leash He's got a reasonable amt of energy and likes to run and likes to be outdoors BUT he s very well behaved in thst he never jumps at all. He's great on a leash , whether running or walking, he always heads straight and will go in whatever direction i head in . After we come back to acct well sit on the grass to cool down and he'll hop in my lap and cuddle with me and ill.rub his back and his tail wags very nicely . He's a very sweet boy whose been great with me. At the end of each outing he hops right back in to his kennel Per volunteer 6/18/25: I met Tucker for the first time on Thursday night, June 18. He had just finished a run with Ian, and he came to greet me as I was waiting to take some video promo. I pulled out my treats and asked him to sit. He did a little bit of jumping because he was eager for the treats, but then he did a proper sit, and he took the treats nicely, not grabby at all. He may have been a little fearful when he first came in, but with me he didn’t show that behavior, and he didn't seem to be nervous, in fact, he solicited pets. He sat patiently while I pet him; he wasn't mouthy, he wasn't jumpy. He did an adorable army crawl and a roll in the grass, and when he was done, he allowed me to pet him all over. He was gentle and calm and continued leaning in for more pets. He is a well mannered, sweet handsome boy, and was adorably cute, and easy to handle. Per volunteer 5/31: Meet Tucker, a friendly and easygoing boy who was found as a stray on May 18th and spent the night with his finder before being brought to the shelter the next day. According to his finder, Tucker did great on the leash and was overall a friendly companion during his short stay. However, based on some fearful behavior observed in the shelter, Tucker would do best in a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe and build confidence. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who just needs a gentle, understanding environment, Tucker might be the perfect match for you! Per Volunteer 5/31/25: He was very easy to leash and popped right out of his kennel. He does pull moderately sometimes, but pretty easy to direct on leash. Once we got to the play yard he was very fearful and didn’t want to be close to me. I dropped some treats and he sniffed them, but didn’t eat them. Very shut down and very fearful of me, but no reactivity at all. Took his space from me and was happy to be back in the kennel. Per volunteer 5/25: Kennel presentation: tucker was laying down in his kennel shaking he looked up at me with whale eyes while still continuing to tremble in his kennel. I stuck my leash in his kennel and he turned his head away. I was able to lasso him over his head and once he was lassoed although still shaking he came out of his kennel. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: through the kennels he continued to shake while walking and he would slip on the floor. in the yard Tucker was very fearful. He was trembling and exit searching. He allowed handling but anytime I would pet him he would twitch out of fear. He gave me low tail wags but would keep distance. He saw another dog and seemed to relax, less shaking and began to wag his tail. He sniffed the other dog through the fence and did really well. After seeing the other dog he did seem to relax a bit more. Due to fearfulness I did not attempt any toys or play. Per finder 5/19: Fine on leash and overall friendly Medical Notes: 6/14: PM medication observation Report : BAR Appetite: normal Resp.
