Pinky Pie is the literal definition of "great things come in small packages." His sweet and goofy personality paired with his teeny little man body is the perfect combination. One thing that I love most about Pinky Pie is the way he prances around and struts his stuff. To paint the picture in your head, think of pumba from the lion king and the way he prances around on the tips of his toes. LOL that's Pinky Pie. Honestly, everything that Pinky does is adorable and you can't help but immediately love this guy. He is dog friendly, affectionate, super smart, and also cat friendly! What more can you ask for?! Watch his video and fall in love with his cute little self: https://youtu.be/ooQramx8-Z0?si=bSzbLwWsKH7415j3 Pinky Pie is believed to be mini German shepherd mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 39 lbs and is full grown! Don't let his pictures fool you, he's a tiny little man that doesn't even take up an entire couch cushion! He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Pinky Pie is very dog friendly and loves to make friends. He has the cutest bouncy play style with other dogs, and loves to romp along side them and body bouncing into them. He's such a silly guy and we believe a mini kangaroo in another life LOL. He loves being around dogs that have a happy go-lucky, easy going personality and around dogs that are not all about play all the time. One of his best friends is a dog literally named Happy Feet LOL and he loves bouncy around with him and engaging in gentle mouth play. In his video, Pinky's bestie is the large black and white male he's playing with. Pinky isn't all about play all the time either, he enjoys going off and doing his own thing, exploring all the smells, and standing back watching all the other dogs do their thing. In a home, he will do best with a easy going dog that enjoys casual playtime and also appreciates those calmer moments as well. A friend that can do both and a friend that will let him get comfortable in his new space before wanting to initiate play. If you don't have other dogs, that's fine too! Pinky Pie does not need the company of another dog to help him feel comfortable and open up or fulfill his energy needs. He's a happy little fella once he opens up and is perfectly content with playing with his person in the backyard, going on a walk or an adventure. Pinky Pie has also shown to be friendly towards cats too. He has spent time with our house cat biggie and saw him jumping around, playing with his toys, doing all the things cats do and he did great. He would sniff him and get curious about what Biggie was doing and then just went off to do this own thing. They both even shared affection and the couch together. We do not know if Pinky Pie has ever lived with a cat before nor can we guarantee that things won't change once a in home. We do believe that with slow and proper introductions Pinky has the potential live in a home with a dog savvy cat. Not only does Pinky Pie have an adorable spunky personality, but he's smart too and loves treats! He already knows how to sit and is a natural dance partner LOL. Teaching him how to dance fully will be so much fun and special trick the two of you can show off to your family and friends. Pinky is easy to walk on a leash too and does well passing by other dogs on leash and didn't even try to pull to go say hi. He is also very attentive to his person when you are teaching him new things, responds well to corrections, and seems to already have a really great recall foundation. Funny thing about Pinky Pie is the way he takes treats, it made me laugh every time. When you go to give him a treat he takes them with his whole mouth open like he is trying to catch it in the air or something and puts his whole mouth on your hand LOL. You'll see in his video that he is very gentle about it, he just has a silly way of taking them because he's a silly guy. Pinky loves to learn new things and teaching him something new or even just polishing up a new skill is one his favorite ways to bond with a person. If you're someone that likes teach your dog tricks, Pinky Pie is perfect for you! Pinky Pie would thrive in a semi-active family that enjoy going on adventures like walks around the neighborhood, trips to your local park, or even going out and exploring those scenic trails you have saved on the map, and also enjoy relaxing at home too. He would do best in a home with a backyard where he can stretch his legs, get those cute mini zooms he likes to do out, and soak in the sun during those nice summer days. We have not seen Pinky Pie with kids just yet and we can absolutely test that for you. Based off of what we have seen so far, we believe he would do best in a home with 1-2 kids 10+. He can be a little shy guy at first when meeting new people but once he knows you, it's game over and he's your little sidekick. We are willing to test Pinky Pie with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
