My story

Approximate Age: 3 year old Approximate Weight: 80 lbs Meet Poppy! Want a majestic couch potato, and a goofy jester in an 80lb package? Poppy is your girl. She loves going for walks, enjoys riding in the car, belly rubs, and loves affection from people of any size. She even appreciates being dressed up with her foster mom’s toddler’s wolf ears, and tiaras from her previous foster family. She is loyal, loving, and a good guard dog, while also welcoming all people. She’s working on commands, and with consistency will be amazing. She knows sit, lay, and come. So far her foster mom has not seen any reactivity on leash when dogs pass by, maybe just some interest here and there. With proper introduction, Poppy is friends with male dogs, and maybe some female dogs (is female selective). She has been known to get along with cats, and is great with people. But she would also love to be an only dog and has no problem being the center of attention in the house. If you’re looking for a majestic goofball, Poppy is the one! Requirements And Donations - Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS). - Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. - Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies. - Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available. Location And Hours - Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 11 AM-3 PM; Sunday 11 AM-1 PM. - We also host adoption events throughout our community.
