Meet Ash – a Big Love with a Big Heart Ash is a four-year-old sweetheart who just wants to be close to his people. Found abandoned and scruffy at a campground, he clearly hadn’t known love for a while—but he’s been making up for lost time ever since. The moment he was rescued, Ash devoured every bit of food he could find, including spilled dog food and an entire bowl of cat food the next day! Now that he’s safe, fed, and gaining weight, he’s focused on what he loves most: snuggling. Ash thrives on affection and human companionship. He’s calm, gentle, and full of gratitude for anyone willing to offer him a warm lap or a cozy place to nap. He would do best in a quiet, loving home where he can soak up all the attention. Ash is FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you—cats with FIV can live long, healthy, and happy lives with proper care. FIV affects a cat’s immune system, so it’s important to keep Ash indoors only to protect him from infections and prevent the spread of the virus to other cats. For this reason, he should also be the only cat in the home, unless his future companions are also FIV-positive. FIV is not contagious to humans or other species, and it’s primarily spread between cats through deep bite wounds—something that’s unlikely in a peaceful home setting. With a stress-free life, regular vet checkups, and a balanced diet, FIV-positive cats like Ash can thrive just like any other feline.
