My story

Loki is a handsome young Alaskan Klee Kai that we pulled from the shelter because he had a severely fractured front leg in need of amputation. What we then discovered is that he also had a severe fracture to his pelvis (probable cause being hit by a car) so this sweet, shy little man had to have that repaired too! Because he is an otherwise healthy little guy, we decided to have both done at the same time along with being neutered so he didn't have to return for multiple surgeries. The amputation went great, but the FHO on his pelvis was hard on him so he will need a bit to recover and go through PT which he had now started.  Loki is sooo sweet and and seems to do good with dogs and cats but he is a jumper, even when he had his fractures!!! So a new adopter would need to know that. But he such a sweet and adorable little guy! This little Alaskan breed has all of the characteristics of his breed which is he loves to talk, doesn't like to be behind barriers so we are working on crate training, and will try to escape. He is also soooooo smart and needs lots of stimulation. He can be a little more shy with men but warms up pretty quickly to women and is really a sweet boy! Loki does need to go to someone that knows these breeds and we are still working on his separation anxiety which is pretty bad (poor little guy). We would normally wait a bit to open up for adoption until we can some of this worked through, but we feel like rather than do all of that with a foster, we could just as well work through all of it with an adopter and be there to be a constant support!June 19, 2025, 9:37 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Loki {COMING SOON}, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
