My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.Princess Mononoke appreciates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to an adult-only home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.A volunteer writes: Princess Mononoke sparkles like one of the soft ringing bells she wears on her collar. This well worn collar shows she's been loved and we know that another chance will be coming her way any day now. Princess Mononoke has been with us a little while and has really been putting in the effort. She's shown some progress, which is no small accomplishment and we're proud. When I first met Princess Mononoke, I heard the bells on her collar before I saw her as she poked around to check things out. Princess Mononoke didn't feel much like coming out to say hello at that time but thankfully she gave me another chance. Each subsequent visit with Princess Mononoke has been full of big hearty nuzzles and smushy little side leans all lovingly practiced to share with anyone willing to give her a chance.
