My story

Hallie is a 3-year-old black and white Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a zest for life! She was handpicked by our adoption team to come up on transport from Louisiana. Despite her long wait, Hallie has remained the sweetest, happiest pup you could ever meet. She makes best friends with everyone she meets, loves giving hugs, and is always ready for a snack or a play session! Sniffy walks and cozy naps are her perfect day, and she’s previously been noted to do well with other dogs. Hallie is a total love bug and will be a joyful addition to any home lucky enough to adopt her. When Hallie arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, she tested positive for Heartworm. The team believes the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Hallie to heal is in a loving forever home. If you choose to adopt her, our clinic staff will support you every step of the way. The treatment process typically lasts about three months and includes simple at-home care to keep her safe while she recovers. A follow-up test at six months completes the process, and most dogs—like Hallie—recover beautifully! It's also important to know that Heartworm can only be spread through mosquito bites, not from pet to pet. Stop in and meet Hallie in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hallie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
