My story

Meet Cowgirl! When Cowgirl's owner passed away, he left behind a large group of pets - including 10 dogs - in need of new homes. Four of the dogs were adopted from Devore Shelter, and we welcomed Cowgirl and the five other remaining dogs as Frosted Faces. Cowgirl is 13 years old, weighs 8 lbs., and is very sweet. Only a day after becoming a Frosted Face, she was chosen to go on a two-week Frosted Fling. We're so thankful that Cowgirl received lots of well-deserved TLC in the comfort of a home. Her Fling Mom reports: "Cowgirl has been such a great foster fling and I really hope that she gets picked for another fling or forever home soon! Here are some of the reasons why Cowgirl should be a part of your family: She really just wants a warm and quiet place to take long naps with some food and water nearby. She is a good eater and happy to try new foods! She might be blind but she’s also curious and sassy. She goes on explorations where she wanders around a part of my apartment and will often stop and listen in to the area around her. When she’s done, she’ll let you know with a grumble, a bark or two, or a little moo! She is good with other dogs and cats! She will mainly try to stay out of their way or not acknowledge them (I think this has to do with her lack of sight), but when she encounters others she’s calm and respectful. She loves to cuddle! As she gets more comfortable, she will cuddle up to you or tuck her head into you when being held. She really just wants a kind and gentle touch and to be loved on. Cowgirl is such a sweetheart!"
