My story

Melon is the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet snuggles. He is currently in that irresistible “attack everything” kitten phase — everything is a toy, and every corner holds an adventure! Melon especially gets a charge out of bug hunting and zooming after balls in a track toy. When he’s not on a mission, Melon is a pure cuddle bug who loves to curl up in your lap and purr his little heart out. Melon's ideal home is with an individual, couple or family. He gets along great with kittens and has been witnessed being tolerant of small cat-friendly dogs. It is anticipated Melon should be okay with large dogs as well! He is a brown tiger tabby with a medium length coat. Melon's long ears flash ear furnishings and his eye color blends in with his coat color. As of May 2025, Melon is 3 months old. His adoption fee is $80. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. All pets are in a home environment cared for by a foster person who provides temporary care until the pet can be placed in a permanent home. Friends of Jackson County is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
