Meet Ice – A Fierce Survivor with a Heart Ready to Melt Ice didn’t have the easiest start in life. This 6-month-old Akita mix came into rescue scared, unsure, and trying her best to protect herself from a world that had let her down. But even then, it was clear: beneath the uncertainty was a brave, brilliant pup just waiting for someone to believe in her. Today, Ice is growing into that promise. She’s stunning, smart, and just a little bit spicy—a puppy with a bold streak and a soft heart. Once she lets you in, her affection is deep and unwavering. She bonds hard with her people and loves nothing more than curling up next to you once she feels safe. Ice is playful, loyal, and full of potential. She walks beautifully on leash, is working hard on her potty training, and learns quickly when given clear guidance and love. But she’s also still figuring out the world—and she needs a patient, experienced home to help her get there. Here’s what else you should know about her: -She’s wary of new people but warms up with time and patience. -She’s a pro cuddler once she trusts you. -She’s a jumper—able to clear a 4-foot fence with ease—so a secure yard or leash-only outdoor time is essential. -She’s not currently suited for small kids. -She needs to be the only dog for now, but could potentially have dog friends in the future with careful, slow introductions. -She could live with a cat if introduced gradually and respectfully. Ice isn’t your typical easy-going puppy—but she is the kind of dog who, with the right person, will love harder, trust deeper, and become a once-in-a-lifetime companion. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
