My story

Look how Handsome Vinny is. He is a 6 year old 12.5 lb Shih tzu that needs a very special home. Vinny has retired from the breeding business and although he was very outgoing with the breeder, he was never socialized with other people. He is very nervous and doesn’t understand this new life he is living. He doesn't interact with the other dogs yet however in time I think he will, he didn't care about the cat at the grooming salon. He just started playing with toys after more than a month. He has bonded with his foster dad, and hates it when he leaves the room. We don't kennel him as he gets pretty upset and I get more sleep if he is sleeping in the dog bed beside our bed. Fast movements scare him, young kids would not be good for him. He will need a secure fence as if he got out, he would never come to anyone. He doesn't know how to walk on a leash and collar yet. He is a very quiet boy. Potty training is a work in progress. He will need a groomer that understands working with scared dogs. I highly recommend Rhonda at My Dirty Dog in Morton, she did great with him. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, just a scared boy, looking for someone with lots of patience that would love to help him overcome his past so he can enjoy his retirement. One if the most amazing things with these breeder dogs is when they come out of their shell and learn to be a dog. His $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, dental with 12 extractions, vaccines, deworming medication, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives and microchip registration.
