My story

In history, Romulus is the legendary King and founder of Rome. Our Romulus also has quite a story to tell. In May of 2020, he was adopted from our shelter when he was about 2 months old. A few months ago, he got outside and went missing. A kind person found him, had him scanned to determine if he had a home. The owner listed on the microchip was contacted but as they had gotten another cat, Romulus needed to find a new home. As all animals adopted from Home Fur Good retain our contact information on their microchip, just for these type of situations - we will always be there for animals that have been in our care- Romulus made his way back to us. But Romulus has more to add to his story. Look closely at his picture and you'll spot he has two different eye colors - one blue and one green! The condition is called heterochromia, the medical term for an odd-eyed cat. All kittens are born with eyes that look blue because of a lack of pigment. Eye color develops as the kitten ages, and the melanin(pigment) is distributed. But if that doesn't happen, one eye can remain blue. The condition is more common in white cats, like Romulus. Romulus is reported to be very sweet, good with kids, and likes to be petted. As with all our cats, his forever home keeps him as an indoor-only cat. Romulus' adoption fee of $85 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FELV, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Romulus, our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 602.971.1334 Home Fur Good Animal Rescue is located at 10220 North 32nd Street, just south of Shea Blvd in Phoenix.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Romulus, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
