My story

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Text 337-962-5011 or email DanceOnTheWhale@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Hi there, I have a wonderful cat named Cricket seeking a home. She was born in the summer of 2019.  She is spayed and up to date on her immunizations, but we have misplaced the paperwork somewhere when moving houses.  We are willing to re-immunize her if it is totally necessary and will make the difference in helping her find a great home.   We do not remember if she has been tested for FIV.fel.She is sweet, smart and incredibly adventurous. She walks along with us on hikes, likes to go camping, is a talented hunter/mouser and climber, and is great and friendly with adults and children, dogs, chickens and large livestock. She is house-trained and also uses a cat door. ***VERY IMPORTANT: She Does Not seem to like most other cats and may attack them. We are currently keeping her locked indoors, and she does fine as a house cat. She rarely gets on counter surfaces, she uses the litter box and specified scratching posts. She really likes catnip and food treats. When allowed in the bedroom, she is an excellent sleeping companion, curling up still and quiet beside her person or making a cat loaf on a willing chest. When closed out of the bedroom, she goes to sleep elsewhere and does not try to wake the humans through the door with shenanigans. Unfortunately, we are seeking another home because we have other cats (as do our neighbors).  Keeping her locked indoors isn’t working out for our family, and we’ve exhausted every other option or intervention. Please give her a chance. We both really love her and are desperate to find her a loving home as we are no longer willing to live with her.  We are located near Asheville, NC. You can inquire about her via text at 337-962-5011 or email at DanceOnTheWhale@gmail.com. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. June 1, 2025, 1:22 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt ZZ-Cricket, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
