Videos: Remi Paw loves rolling in the grass: https://youtube.com/shorts/DxTEbhYGaBE?si=4vFAPb_UamkuXSlj Behavior Notes: Per volunteer 6/5/25: Remi paw was on her bed when I approached her kennel. She smelled my leash, her tail was a little high, but gave good wags. She was easy to leash, stepped right out, and was easy walking through the aisles. She stopped at a dog in a lower surgical kennel, was very excited to see the pup - had a helicopter tail- gave a nice shake afterward and we continued to walk out. In the vestibule before exiting the building she was very excited to exit and gave some happy little jumps. She seems to be trying to stay housetrained. Once on the grass, she immediately rolled on her back and allowed full belly rubs, then stood up for a shake off and another roll, followed by another shake off. In the yard, I sat on the bench and she approached me , I offered a treat, she smelled it but didn't take it. She allowed me to pet her as she walked by but didn't stop for more pets. I offered her a ball on a rope toy and that really piqued her interest - she chased it when I tossed it and then returned to me with it. She allowed me to pet her back while she held onto the toy. We played tug which she really enjoyed; she continued to bring the rope toy to me to play. When she found a stuffed toy, she brought it to me, and she jumped on me with the toy - she jumped with her whole body into me while she was holding the stuffed toy. She didn't seem to know sit, but does take the treat gently. She is a big girl with a big smile. She has dry skin on her back and while I was rubbing her back, she lowered her back legs like she was ready to lie down. She continued to allow me to pet her back, down to her paws. She tried drinking from small puddles from the pool, so we returned to the shelter. She is very well behaved walking, I had no issue returning her to her kennel. Her issue was with her hanging water pail, several times she slowly approached it, then backed away. I finally held it for her and she drank for at least a half minute. I then unhooked the pail and set it on the floor, and she drank some more. She now has a sign to keep her water pail on the floor.
