My story

Meet Chase – Your Future Snuggle Buddy Age: ~3.5 years Weight: 43 lbs Looking for a best friend who will never leave your side? Meet Chase, a sweet and soulful boy who’s ready to find his forever snuggle partner. Chase is the definition of a Velcro dog—he wants nothing more than to be close to his person, whether that means resting his head on your lap, curling up by your feet, or gently placing his paws on the center console just to be near you in the car. He may be a little timid at first, but once he trusts you, he opens up into the most affectionate and loyal companion. He walks beautifully on a leash, staying close and checking in for pets and reassurance. He’s treat and affection motivated, knows how to “sit,” and is incredibly gentle when taking treats. He’s also very polite about potty time—he takes care of business right away when he goes outside! Chase still gets little bursts of energy—adorable zoomies and quick chases after toys—without overdoing it. He’s shown positive body language when meeting other dogs at a distance or through a fence, with happy tail wags and friendly fence-run games with smaller pups. Car rides? He may need a little help hopping in, but once settled, he’ll quietly relax beside you, head resting close, just happy to be along for the ride. Chase is gentle, affectionate, and low-key, with the occasional “hug” to let you know how much he loves you. He tolerated his bath like a champ (even if it wasn't his favorite), and through it all, remained a sweet, trusting boy. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving shadow to curl up with on the couch, take leisurely strolls, and fill your days with calm companionship, Chase is your guy. Come meet Chase and see just how special this gentle lover boy is. He’s ready to chase his way right into your heart. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chase, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
