My story

Meet Wyn, a 12-year-old, 45-pound gem with a gentle spirit and a wise, loving heart. Don’t let her age fool you—this sweet senior still has plenty of pep in her step and enjoys running around the yard just as much as she loves curling up on the couch. Wyn is incredibly intelligent and genuinely enjoys training. She already knows how to give a high five and is always eager to learn more, especially when “cookies” are involved—she takes her treats with the utmost politeness. She walks beautifully on leash and finds comfort in being close to her people. While she can be a little shy at first, her confidence is growing every day. She’s good with other dogs and may even show a little playful spark once she settles in. She’d likely do best with another calm, older dog who matches her pace rather than a high-energy pup who wants to wrestle all day. Wyn does have a few quirks, including a fear of thunderstorms—her safe space is a cozy closet or a quiet corner where she can wait it out. She's also quite the little escape artist and could hop a 4-foot fence, so a secure privacy fence or supervised outside time is best. At her core, Wyn is a gentle, loving companion who simply wants a peaceful home, a soft bed, and a human or two to lean on. If you’re looking for a mellow, loyal best friend with just the right amount of spunk, Wyn could be your perfect match. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
