My story

Introducing Dodger! Social Affectionate Velcro Dane Calm Hi, I’m Dodger! I’m your classic Velcro Dane—I’m happiest when I’m close to my people. I love leaning into you for pets, sitting on your feet, or giving you a gentle nudge when I think you’ve stopped cuddling too soon. I’m a low-energy guy, but I light up at mealtime and absolutely live for quiet cuddle sessions. A calm, peaceful home is my happy place. I adore people and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. I’ve met kids at events and enjoyed their company. I’m also curious about other dogs and have had pleasant interactions with them during walks and at parks. I’ll sometimes bark when there’s a lot going on outside, especially if I’m in the yard, but overall I’m a pretty chill guy. I haven’t lived with cats yet, so slow introductions would be best if you have one. Likes:• Mealtime—it’s the highlight of my day!• Snuggling and being near my people• Peaceful walks• Following my humans from room to room Dislikes:• Loud or chaotic environments I know “sit,” “leave it,” and “off,” though I’ll admit I sometimes have selective hearing (especially if there’s something more interesting going on). I walk nicely on leash and tend to stay close without much pulling. I’m crate-trained and settle in well, especially when there’s food involved. I’m fully housebroken, but if I’m left loose while you’re gone, I might mark. I’m also a bit of a counter-surfer and like to check the trash, so food should be kept out of reach. I’m in good health overall. I’ve started licking this spring, which may be from seasonal allergies—my vet is keeping an eye on it. Forever Home Wishlist:• A calm, quiet home where I can relax and feel safe• A family comfortable crating me when they’re away (especially to prevent mischief!)• I’m fine with any yard size, and I don’t need a physical fence• I’d love to be with you as much as possible, but I can handle being crated for 8+ hours if needed• I might do ok living in an apartment Fun Fact: I may be on the mellow side, but I’m a gold-medal cuddler!
