My story

Seven-year-old Polo hasn’t had the easiest start to life, but he’s hoping the second half will be filled with love, comfort, and companionship. Volunteers describe him as a confident, friendly boy who’s always ready with a wagging tail.Recently, Polo got to enjoy a day out on the trail, and he was a total sweetheart. He rode beautifully in the car, happily sniffing out the window, and did great walking along a busy rail trail—calm and composed as joggers, bikers, and even other dogs passed by. He even joined in for a short jog, keeping pace like a pro! True to his playful side, he loved splashing in puddles and rolling around in the grass. While he wasn’t into sticks, we’re pretty sure he’d love a chew toy or plushie to call his own.He’s mostly laid-back, didn’t bark once (not even at a very realistic-looking coyote decoy!), and got tons of compliments on his adorable little ears. Polo’s still a puppy at heart and would thrive with someone who can match his adventurous yet mellow vibe.Polo isn’t a fan of other male dogs, so he’s looking for a home without boy doggie siblings. As always, we’d be happy to help with a meet-and-greet to see if he might be a good match with any potential (female) canine companions. Come meet Polo and show him what the good life really looks like!He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
