My story

Diggles ACCT-A-222193 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Diggles must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 at 10AM. Should Diggles’ medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Diggles, the wiggliest, happiest goofball you'll ever meet! This sweet boy was found as a stray and has been winning hearts since arriving at the shelter. With his beautiful blue eyes, adorable tippy-tap toes when he sees a leash, and constant tail wags, Diggles is a total charmer. He’s a cuddle enthusiast who loves attention, leans right in for pets, and will melt into your lap if you let him. Diggles knows his basics like sit, down, and paw, and takes treats ever so gently. He’s a big fan of squeaky toys and will happily show off his skills in exchange for a tasty snack. Volunteers say he’s likely housebroken, as he always does his business right away when outside. On leash, Diggles walks well with some occasional pulling, especially if he gets excited around other dogs. One of Diggles’ favorite things? Soaking himself in the kiddie pool to cool off! This water-loving pup would thrive with an active adopter who enjoys the outdoors — he’d be the perfect sidekick for walks, yard time, and sunshiney adventures. While Diggles has done well in the shelter with dog intros, he does best with slow, thoughtful introductions and ample decompression time in a home. With the right setup and support, he has the potential to build positive relationships with other dogs. For now, he’d thrive in a home that gives him structure, playtime, cuddles, and lots of love. If you're looking for a loyal, silly, and sweet companion who will keep you smiling every day, Diggles is your guy! Diggles was found as a stray and brought into the shelter on June 3rd. Since then Diggles has been described as nothing but a friendly, wiggly boy. Diggles is a total goofball who loves to play with squeaky toys and show off his impressive skills as he knows sit, down, and paw! He has learned to take treats like a champ nicely out of your hand. If you're looking for a furry friend who will bring endless laughter and love into your life, Diggles might just be the one for you. Per volunteer 06/14/2025: I’ve been taking Diggles out for a few days now and he’s nothing but such a happy boy. In the kennels when he sees me he will start to whine and bark until I come over to him. Diggles loves attention and loves to cuddle into you. He walks well on leash with some minimal pulling. In the yard diggles likes to spend some time sniffing around before coming up to you. Diggles seems to be housebroken or trying to stay housebroken as once outside he uses the bathroom right away. He knows sit, down and paw and takes treats nicely out of my hands. He has settled in well and I had no issues with returning him to kennel as he now hops right in with no issues! Per volunteer 06/08/2025: Diggle's intake date was June 5. When I approached his kennel, and he saw my leash, he got very excited and started doing an adorable tippy tap toe. he's so cute. He might be trying to stay house train, because he had eliminated as soon as he got outside and he was a bit strong on the leash for me. We waited in another yard to get his picture and he was very well-behaved, curious about the noise from the photo shoot, but not barking or pacing. He didn't seem to know sit, but he was very gentle taking the treats. He looks to be a good weight, has a very pretty coat, and beautiful blue eyes. No issue returning him to his kennel. Per volunteer 6/8/25: Kennel presentation: Diggles was wiggly with a loose body and soft eyes at his kennel. He patiently waited for me to leash him over the head and once leashed he hopped right out of his kennel. On leash he can be strong at times and through the kennels he did try to pull to other dogs if they started barking at him. Leash: minimal/moderate pulling Handling: in the room giggles remained very loose and wiggly with me. He practiced on sitting. And at times could get jumpy, but could be easily redirected with treats. He is very treat motivated. He liked squeaky toys and would trade his toy for a treat. Diggles allowed all handling and would lean in for pets. Going back to his kennel Diggles did not want to return. Once we got to his kennel he started to hard pull back and retreat away from the kennel. A staff member had to come over and help return him to kennel. Toys: took possession of toys Play: no interest Playgroup 6/6: was not recorded due to the amount of commotion and reactivity of other dogs being removed in the yard. he was hard barking at the other dogs while outside the barrier so the handlers decided to muzzle him.
