My story

Meet Stella! This wiggly, bouncy girl is bursting with love and ready to share it with a family of her own. Stella is full of personality!! She greets you with a wagging tail, hops for attention, and even offers up her belly once she starts to settle in. She’s trying to stay house-trained at the shelter, knows “sit,” and enjoys chasing toys - even if she’s not quite sure what to do with them yet! With structure, patience, and plenty of playtime, Stella is sure to blossom into a loyal, loving pup pal. If you’re looking for a happy, high-energy friend to keep you smiling, come meet Stella at ACCT Philly any day of the week between 10 am & 6 pm VIDEOS Stella gets belly rubs: https://youtube.com/shorts/QgmuEs7Xq0s?si=jyzVtuLGTUWC1qpk Stella gives kisses: https://youtube.com/shorts/jOqVSERzaIs?si=wgM2dinMYAWeYdPU Stella knows sit: https://youtube.com/shorts/xZReAABdmUI?si=7t9tSAxDzufF4TTG Stella zoomies around the yard: https://youtube.com/shorts/OPei_sUK8EQ?si=e3u2yfb6Xhc1PVzP Playgroup 6/7: Cocoa, Chill Gill, Violet, Manchas, Cascade, Stella https://youtu.be/RMHCjBjXoz4 Playgroup 6/7: Cocoa, Chill Gill, Manchas, Cascade, Stella https://youtu.be/PiEGfldaO_c Playgroup 6/7: Cocoa, Manchas, Cascade, Stella https://youtu.be/oSwI0hf4JWU BEHAVIOR 06/07/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Stella had very good greetings and was whinging, being very excited to meet the dogs. she was very vocal and steerable. she was very playful and came in like a bull in a china shop. she was not respectful of dogs boundaries -- running into them and people. she also didnt understand corrections. 06/07/2025 staff notes: An ACA walked Stella down the admin hallway to playgroup and noted that she passed a cat in an office and did great. She stopped to see her with a loose body and then continued to walk down the hallway 06/07/2025 volunteer notes: When I arrived at Stella’s kennel, she was standing up on the front bars. She was wiggly with a wagging tail. I slipped my leash in. Despite some wigglies and excited jumps, I was able to slip the lead over her head. Stella pulls moderately on leash which increases when she sees other dogs. She attempts to pull towards them and vocally cries. Stella seems house trained as she peed and pooped once outside. In the yard, Stella zoomied around. She had a wiggly body and a mid to high level tail wag. She did track other dogs along the fence like whining to try to get their attention. I was able to briefly break her attention by throwing a ball but she returned to the fence line, exit searching at times. Stella is very bouncy and jumpy. Sometimes hopping up on all four legs to get attention from her handler. At times she would take treats gently but spit them out. She only ate one treat in our time together off the ground. Inside, Stella continued to seem pretty focused on the sights and sounds of other dogs. She had a tight lip and was panting. She was quick to move around the room. She allowed me to pet her but did not stay still long. She would chase after toys but never took possession . After settling down a bit, Stella showed me she knew sit. A staff member entered the room and she greeted him with a wiggly body. She jumped up to get pets and give him kisses. He was able to correct her physically but she continued to bounce towards his face. Eventually, Stella laid on the floor and rolled over for belly rubs. Stella returned to her kennel with no issue. 06/06/2025 medical staff notes: Sweet but stressed, food motivated, needed minimal restraint for intake exam ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
