My story

Pookie is a bright, affectionate, and playful cat with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I've had the joy of raising him since he was just 2 months old, and in that time, he's become a truly special companion - curious, clever, and full of character.   He’s a quick learner who knows how to "sit," "stay," and "come" on command (yes, really!), and he even gives high-fives! Pookie loves a good game of hide-and-seek, and his favorite way to unwind is watching nature documentaries - Life in Color on Netflix is his all-time favorite.   Pookie thrives in an enriched environment where he can be mentally and physically stimulated. Wand toys, fuzzy balls, tunnels, new tricks, or simply spending time with guests or family - he’s always up for fun and interaction. He’s lived with other cats before and would do great with another playful cat or even a friendly, active dog. He’d also thrive in a home with multiple family members who enjoy engaging with him.   He does have some general anxiety - loud noises like vacuum cleaners can send him into hiding - but once he feels safe and bonds with you, he’s incredibly loving. He’ll knead on your chest, curl up beside you while you read or watch TV, and be your loyal little shadow.   Pookie is on a steady routine - he sleeps through the night, enjoys wet food between 9-11 a.m., and naps contentedly during the day to 5pm and briefly in the late evenings. He open feeds but he paces himself, so he is not overweight. I also have only fed him high quality cat food.  He doesn't have any medical issues.   Rehoming Pookie is not a decision I’ve taken lightly. I adore him deeply, but unfortunately, my asthma has significantly worsened, and after multiple visits with my allergist, I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home where he can thrive and continue being healthy, happy, and loved.   If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and intelligent cat who will bring joy and warmth to your home, Pookie may just be your perfect match. I'm looking for a guardian who can offer him the same love and care he's known since kittenhood - with plenty of play, attention, and affection. Pookie is indoor only and lives with his loving owner in Portland.  His rehoming fee is $100 but he is truly priceless.
