0852 Crew

My story

Crew is being fostered in Ringwood IL Drum roll please!!!! Introducing Crew!  This GORGEOUS hunk is a standard sized Australian Shepherd and we think Border Collie mix.  He has a blue merle coat, heterochromia eyes (which means they are marbled with brown and blue) and a full BEAUTIFUL tail.  Crew's date of birth is 6/20/2024.  At just under a year, this boy is SWEET as pie.  He absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES everyone he has met. At almost a year old, he weighs 55lbs.  Crew rides well in the car, is potty trained and crate trained, although he doesn't love the crate and is still making positive associations with it.  He tells us he doesn't love it by vocalizing, but he has never tried to break out of his crate. He does settle down once in.   Crew would not do well in a home with cats as he likes to chase them a little too much or little dogs.  Crew would actually be best as an only dog and all the attention on him, but he doesn't mind other dogs as long as they don't try to play too rough and are constantly in his face. Maybe even a female to offset his We also think Crew would do best with older children, 12 and up.  He is a young boy and boisterous.  He loves to play with a jolly ball or a large ball he can run around the yard with.  Check out this video of him playing "keep away!"  It is SO cute!  This boy rides well in the car, especially crated.  He is still learning to walk on leash and will pull a bit.  We recommend an easy walk harness for him or a gentle leader.  Crew will need a minimum of 2-3 hours of mental and physical exercise a day to be a happy boy.  While this boi is stunning, an Aussie/Border Collie takes work and training.  Please do your research about Aussies and Border Collies before appling for this boi.  They are not a dog for a first time dog owner and without their needs being met can act out negatively. Crew would LOVE a fenced yard to play in and is still working on recall training, but doing great with it, especially with yummy treats!  He is highly intelligent and food motivated, eager to please.  Crew is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Does this boy just steal your heart?  Please complete an adoption application today.   Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
