Meet Little Petal – A Shy Soul Ready to Bloom! 🌸 Little Petal came into rescue after a heartbreaking start — found in rural Fruitland, loyally staying by the side of her companion who had been hit by a car and passed away. Understandably, she was terrified and shut down when first brought in. She would freeze when touched and avoided eye contact, unsure of the world around her. But this brave little girl is slowly learning that love can be gentle and kind. In her foster home, Petal is beginning to come around. She still sometimes runs away when approached, but she now allows herself to be picked up. While she’s not quite a snuggler yet, she jumps up in the chair with her foster mom for loves and pets but with patience and consistency, she is going to blossom into an amazing companion. At just 7 months old and 8 lbs, Petal has so much time to grow and learn how to be a happy, confident dog. She loves to play and needs another playful dog in the home to help guide her and keep her company. While she hasn’t been tested with cats or children, we believe her gentle and timid nature means she’ll likely do well with respectful, calm kids and pets. She is doing really well on her house training.
