IRA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Ira and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/15) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:  Ira      Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and retriever mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of February 2025      SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  49 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! He does not have experience living with cats or kids to our knowledge, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters.    Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Ira is Looking For:  His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days.What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me: Ira is doing fantastic, he is having a blast! He is a happy go lucky dog! At home he has been really good, doing excellent with house training. We've been practicing his commands, and he is learning so fast. Such a smart boy.   Outside, he is doing well with leash walking. He likes to say hi to all who pass, dogs or people (especially dogs). He's great in the car too! He LOVES other dogs and really likes to go to dog parks, so we go a lot. Playing with other dogs is his favorite! He likes all dogs, but he does have a few best friends that he is absolutely happy to play with. Overall, he is a sweet boy whose tail doesn’t stop wagging.     Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
