My story

Name: Bernard Breeds: Pit Bull/ Husky Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Large Bernard is a sensitive boy with a tough past. He came from an abusive situation where he was treated and corrected very roughly. Unfortunately this has left him with some trauma around his collar being grabbed or fast movements near his head. Once he trusts you, he hands you over his entire heart and he doesn’t mind handling of any kind. The good: he is excellent with other dogs and would actually do better with a confident dog in the home to follow. He is well housetrained, crates well but doesn’t need it, and minds his manners perfectly in the house. He is medium energy and loves to play and go for walks but he isn’t bouncing off the walls and likes to relax with a bone or for a snooze by your feet. The bad: He will not hand over his heart right away. He does seek affection and attention but he is nervous and needs a home who will take it slow and who will commit to management with movements near his collar (using slip leashes, verbal cues, etc). He will likely never be a social butterfly who wants to be best friends with everyone and immediately trust people. Though he has some drawbacks, we do believe Bernard will thrive in a home who commits to understanding his needs and quirks and takes the time to earn his trust. He takes some work but he is very worth it. Requirements: Adult-only home with patience to earn his trust Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 6 months of age, deworming, microchip and current preventatives Interested in adopting?
