My story

Meet Bucky, a sweet and sleepy tabby who’s come a long way from heartbreak to healing. Bucky came to us after his beloved owner passed away, and the loss hit him hard. When he first arrived, he was completely shut down—he didn’t want to eat, use his box, or engage with the world around him, and it became clear that he needed more than time to grieve. With careful monitoring, medication, and (of course) lots of love, our team worked patiently to help him find his way back. Over time, Bucky began to show signs of trust. He’d cautiously creep out of bed when someone opened the door, and would purr if you took the time to sit with him. Each small moment of bravery was a milestone, and with each passing day, he seemed to appreciate the quiet company more and more. Although he still has a chill, laid-back nature, Bucky has proven that he wants to be part of a home again—and he’s ready to find one where he can feel safe, loved, and unhurried. These days, Bucky is living his best, lazy life. He’s a classic orange boy with strong Garfield energy—low-maintenance, a little spoiled, and perfectly content to snooze the day away on a cozy couch. He’s looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can live out his golden years in peace. If you’ve got a soft spot for quiet companions and sleepy afternoons, Bucky just might be your perfect match.
