My story

Nibbs is an exceptional twenty years old—and he still wants to be here! Delicate yet dignified, there’s something quietly regal about the way he moves: steady, proud, and full of purpose. Though he’s grown thin with age, and his coat is a bit worn, there’s a spark in his eyes that tells you he’s not done yet. Nibbs may be in his twilight years, but he hasn’t lost the will to greet each day with resilience and grace. When Nibbs first arrived at HTAT, he seemed to be doing remarkably well for a cat his age. After squaring away a persistent respiratory infection, his personality returned with full force. One of his favorite pastimes is sitting out on the catio, taking in the world around him. Whether he’s listening to the birdsong, soaking in the sun, or feeling the breeze in his fur, Nibbs has a peaceful appreciation for his surroundings. Through it all, Nibbs has remained affectionate and alert. He has a strong appetite and makes sure his voice is heard at mealtimes. He follows volunteers around with wide green eyes, hoping for the occasional pet—he’ll even give you a soft poke with his paw if he feels he’s being ignored. It’s clear that he came from a place where he was deeply loved, and we know that his forever home will receive the same love in return.
