My story

Meet Tanner, a 4-year-old, 61-pound German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for adventure and cuddles. Tanner is a sweet, affectionate pup who has easily won over everyone he meets—his foster says several people have called him their “soul dog.” He adores belly rubs, pets, and being near his humans. Whether it’s lying down for love in the middle of a group of strangers or following his person from room to room at home, Tanner is happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s gentle with kids, loves adults, and enjoys polite interactions with other dogs. On walks, he’s friendly and curious, happily greeting people and dogs before moving along with a wagging tail. The great outdoors is Tanner’s favorite place. He loves soaking up the sun, sniffing every scent, and watching the world go by. He’s a big fan of long walks and can easily enjoy several outings throughout the day. He’s also a car ride enthusiast, enjoying the sights before settling in for a nap. At home, Tanner is house-trained and doesn’t require a crate. He knows basic commands like “sit” and “come” and is working on “stay” and “down.” Tanner is an affectionate, social pup who loves cuddling as much as he loves his outdoor adventures. He would thrive in a home with an active adopter who can provide him with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and, most importantly, love.
