My story

Name, age, breed: Queen Jewels, 12 years old, PugLikes: Snuggles, gentle walks, being the center of attention, quiet companionship, leaning on her favorite person, and just being your shadow around the house. She also loves to wag her whole body when she sees you!Dislikes: Loud, chaotic environments or too much roughhousing — Queen Jewels prefers things calm and cozy. What would be the ideal home? A peaceful, loving home where Queen Jewels can soak up all the attention. She’s a low-energy senior who would thrive with someone home often and happy to go at her pace. A quiet household with a comfy couch and lots of love is her dream.Good with other cats? Possibly! We are unsure if she has lived with cats before, but her calm temperament suggests it could be a good fit with proper introductions.Good with dogs? Yes, especially dogs of similar size and activity level. She has lived with another dog and enjoys calm canine companions.Good with children? Yes, but she prefers a quiet environment, so older, respectful children or adult-only homes would be best.Temperament: Sweet, affectionate, calm, and eager to be near her humans. Queen Jewels loves leaning on you for pets, getting into your lap, and wagging her whole body when she`s happy. She’s sociable and gentle with both people and other dogs.Motivators? Treats, kibble, and your attention. While she’s not super toy-driven, she thrives on gentle interaction and calm affection.Any commands? She knows `sit` — kind of. She’s more about charm than obedience!House trained? UnknownCrate trained? UnknownHow long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeks. We recommend looking into the 3-3-3 Rule to help understand what to expect as she adjusts to her new environment and family. She may be a little anxious at first, but she’ll settle in beautifully once she knows she’s safe and loved.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Yes — Queen Jewels has some senior medical needs, including brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome and hip dysplasia. She is presumed to be spayed. These conditions mean she does best with short walks and a cool, calm environment. She’s labeled `green` for volunteers, meaning she’s easy to walk and interact with, and she would be suitable even for first-time dog owners.Medical: Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, hip dysplasia, and presumed spayed

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Queen Jewels, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
