My story

Leela is a 2 year old female Pit mix, whose sweet and engaging personality is sure to win your heart! This friendly girl absolutely loves people, and she is so deserving of being with her own family rather than in a shelter. From the moment she meets you, Leela showers you with adoring looks that make you feel like the center of her world. Leela also politely greets other dogs she meets in play pens next to her, so seems dog-friendly. (Of course a Meet n Greet is always recommended if you have other dogs in the household.) This sweet girl walks nicely on a leash, and has a magical way of making everything seem a little brighter just by being with her. And adding to her charms, Leela has a gorgeous coat as unique as her personality, with playful spots and a Holstein-like pattern that make her stand out in the best way. It’s clear that Leela is meant to be in a loving home, forming strong lasting bonds with her family. She is simply looking for her people who will cherish her … is that you? Leela can’t wait to meet you and find out!  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.July 1, 2025, 7:11 pm
