My story

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Cuddle Bug Ready for Love DANA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Dana          Best Guess for Breed: Scruffy terrier mix     Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of June 2025      SEX: Female   Approximate Weight: 29.4 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! Dana gets along with the cat in her foster home but we always recommend slow introductions. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are committed to helping them acclimate to a completely new environment. Giving Dana opportunities to interact with other dogs here (doggie playdates, welcoming resident dog in the home, doggie daycare, etc.) will help her so much - they will show her the ropes!    Dana is Looking For:  Dana is a pretty awesome pup! She was pregnant when she was rescued from a hoarding case, and gave birth to ELEVEN puppies while in the care of a Puerto Rico rescue. This is what the rescue said about her: 'Dana is very nurturing, both with dogs and socially around people. She is not shy, likes attention, not a doubt, after caring for 11 puppies! Dana would do well in a home with other dogs. 'This sweet pup has gone through quite a bit in her young life. She is oh so eager to get her fresh start, to know she's safe and loved and under her roof, to know where she belongs. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and all the love and loyalty in her heart. What do you say? Are you Dana's fresh start? Is she the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Dana is a total sweetheart and the definition of a cuddle bug. Dana is very food-motivated, making her a quick learner who’s always ready to show off a new trick in exchange for a treat.   Dana has been the perfect houseguest—calm, respectful, and low-maintenance. She sleeps peacefully through the night and doesn’t chew on anything she shouldn’t. Whether it’s napping beside you during work or lounging in a sunny spot, Dana is the ideal telework companion.   Dana is still working on her potty training, but she goes most days without an accident.     Her energy level is that perfect middle ground: she’s up for a walk or play session with her favorite toys, but she’s also perfectly content to snooze the day away. Dana coexists peacefully with other dogs, though she hasn’t shown much interest in play yet. She’s also been wonderfully calm and respectful with the resident cat.   If you’re looking for a well-mannered, affectionate, and easygoing pup to share your life with, Dana just might be your perfect match!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!
