Meet Sammy Sammy’s Journey – A Story of Strength, Resilience, and Unwavering Love Sammy is a stunning 3-year-old red husky with the laid-back personality of a Basset Hound. No escape antics. No endless howling. Just a sweet, gentle soul who wants to be near her people. Whether you’re gardening, watching TV, or working from home, Sammy is happiest simply relaxing by your side. She enjoys walks, is food-motivated, and has wonderful leash manners. She’s also a quiet girl, making her a great fit for apartments as well as houses.Sammy does have a minor medical quirk—she takes affordable medication (about $45/month) for incontinence, and you may occasionally need a quick Swiffer swipe for a small puddle. At night, she wears a diaper just in case. Her condition is caused by a kidney/ureter abnormality, but her other kidney is healthy, and she’s perfectly happy and comfortable. Surgery is optional, not necessary.She’s currently fostered with young kids and two older dogs and does beautifully with both. Younger dogs are fine too, as long as they respect her preference for “live and let live”—she’s not into rough play due to an old injury from her time as a stray in Texas, which cost her an ear.
