My story

1-Year-Old Shepherd Mix | Friendly • Playful • Water-LovingScotty is the total package — equal parts playful adventurer and laid-back lovebug. This 1-year-old shepherd mix recently went on a Doggie Day Out, and he stole hearts everywhere he went!He had a blast exploring the American River, confidently taking a swim and happily walking three miles before settling in for some well-earned snuggles. At a family-friendly brewery, Scotty was incredibly calm and gentle with young kids (under 4!) and soaked up every pet and belly rub he could get. He’s social, confident, and made fast friends with everyone who stopped to say hello.Scotty rides great in the car and loves to stretch out on his back for affection. He’d thrive in an active home that enjoys outdoor adventures and leisurely couch time in equal measure. He would also love some chew toys to keep him entertained — he’s still young and learning!Scotty has been co-housed with another dog at the shelter and may do well in a home with another pup, given a proper introduction.If you`re looking for a spirited companion who’s friendly, affectionate, and always up for fun — Scotty`s your guy.
